Easy Summertime Sangria

Easy Summertime White Wine Peach Sangria

What you need:

  • Large Pitcher or Beverage Jar
    • If using a beverage jar, you may want to consider an infuser basket to prevent fruit from clogging the spigot
  • optional: small containers to marinate fruits in fridge

Ingredients

  • 1 large bottle (1.5 L) of white wine (Chenin Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blancs are recommended, moscato can be a bit too sweet for the base)
  • Fruit - Frozen or Fresh (depends on how much time you've got on your hands!)
    • FROZEN *I've listed my favs below, subs are always OK!
      • 1/2 of a 16 oz bag of frozen pineapple
      • 1/2 of a 16 oz bag of frozen peach slices
      • 1/2 of a 16 oz bag of strawberries
    • FRESH
      • 1 pineapple, cut into small pieces
      • 1 - 2 peaches, skinned/pit removed and cut into slices or small chunks
      • 1/2 lb - 1 lb of strawberries, rinsed with stems removed (larger berries can be halved)
  • 1/2 bottle, 64 oz OceanSpray WHITE CRAN•PEACH Juice
    • Technically you can buy any juice + fruit + wine to make sangria.  I have found that this is my FAVORITE white sangria juice because it has a great balance of lightly sweet and very summery flavors
  • Vodka (About 2 oz or 1/4 c)

Directions **Frozen Fruit (prep: 5-15 min)

  1. Pour wine into large pitcher or beverage jar
  2. Add frozen fruits to container - depending on the size of your pitcher, you may want to add handfuls of each fruit to determine how much can actually fit in your pitcher leaving room for additional liquids!
  3. Add your preferred juice
  4. Add Vodka
  5. Mix/Stir & Taste test! Continue to adjust amounts of Juice, wine or vodka until preferred flavor over ice is achieved.
  6. Enjoy!

Directions **Fresh Fruit (prep: overnight)

  1. Prepare fresh fruit and place in glass or plastic containers with lids
  2. Pour vodka over fresh fruit and seal container
  3. Store in fridge overnight
  4. Next day: Pour wine into large pitcher or beverage jar
  5. Add fruits & vodka to wine
  6. Add juice
  7. Mix/Stir & Taste test! Continue to adjust amounts of Juice, wine or vodka until preferred flavor over ice is achieved.
  8. Enjoy!

NOTES

  • If you are serving a small group, you can use a regular 750 ml bottle of wine, just remember to reduce the amount of juice and vodka you add to the mix!
  • Can also be served as a sparkling drink if poured over club soda or sprite (for a much sweeter version)
  • Feel free to sub any of the fruit or juice combinations to your personal preference and what's available in your fridge/freezer or your local store.
